New firmware released for Canon 30d

Canon released a new version of the EOS 30d firmware. It’s available from their site.
The new firmware fixes a bug where the camera misreports how many shots are remaining in continuous mode and adds a semi gloss paper option for direct printing.

Dropping comment moderation

Well, figure it’s time to drop auto moderation of all the comments. It’s just too much trouble going through 400+ comments to find the 3 that are from real people when Akismet does such a good job.

Well, I must have arrived. I’m getting spammed.

I suppose it’s a good sign. It must mean my little corner of the internet is at least getting linked to somewhere. Comment spammers have started hitting me pretty hard. Fortunately I moderate all the comments so they won’t show up. But it’s still a pain to deal with them.

Canon releases 2 new Pixma all-in-one printers

As part of the PMA show, Canon announced two new printers in their Pixma line – the Pixma MP800R and the MP830.
Both use Canon’s ContrastPLUS ink system and deliver 9600×2400dpi. The MP830 can print up to 30 pages per minute black and white and 24 pages per minute in colo.
