Kodak No. 2A Folding Autographic Brownie

The Kodak No. 2-A Folding Autographic Brownie was made from 1915 through 1926 and originally cost $13.00. In 1917 the ends were changed from a squared end to a rounded end, which makes the sample pictures below from a post-1917 camera. The 2-A takes 116 film.

I recently purchased one of these cameras in perfect condition with the instruction book. How much are they worth now do you know? As I said, it is in perfect condition and came in the leather case. Thank you
I don’t remember how much I paid for mine, but it wasn’t more than 20 bucks. Most of my older cameras have come from eBay.
Of course, as you can see from the pictures mine is not in any type of perfect condition. The bellows are cracked, lens is dirty, and the hardware needs work. But I wanted it for display, so I’m not worried if it works.
Having the case and manual should make yours worth quite a bit more than what I paid.
thank you for the feedback
I have a #2A folding autographic brownie
I was just wondering how much it would be valued at
this is just an enquiry
thank you Robin
I have a 1917 autographic, it uses a 118 film that is unobtainable. I was given mine 30 years ago by an aunt who took hundreds of fotos in the twenties and thirties. used with sheet film plates it produces some very good pictures.
Hello, I’m from Chascomus, Argentina, and two days ago my mother found one of those camera( sorry my english is not very good). It is in perfect conditions, every part works, the leather is perfect, doesn’t have the case or instruction book, but i think it must worth a bit more than yours, don’t you know?. Here in my country some collector tried to give me about 2000 U$D, and it sounds me too much, please could you to act as consultant to guide me?
Thanks you
I AQUIRED THIS OLD CAMERA ABOT TWENTY YEARS AGO,
I AM ABOUT TO GIVE IT TO A GANDSON.WHO LOVES IT
WOULD HE BE ABLE TO GET IT BACK IN ‘WORKING ORDER.?

I would think it’s possible, but it may be difficult to find film for it. There are some vendors that sell film for old cameras, but I’ve never seen either the 116 or 118 that this camera seems to take.
Thankyou ryan for your reply
grandson is not to worried if he cannot get film he is going to Display it
for all to see.
Have we not come a long way. with cameras.

Ryan I forgot to say I live in Scotland
thanks you for your reply, it thought you don´t read this but i saw that you reply the other people, why don´t reply me?.
Nice page :)
I just bought one of these today at a thrift store. I paid $29 for it. It is in fair to good condition, bellows and leather are decent, shutter and aperture controls seem to work fine, although the lens and focus screen are pretty dirty. If I could find some film for this thing I would love to give it a try!
Hi - My Grandma and I were going through some of her old things and came across one of these cameras - It is in PERFECT condition - Everything works to a tee! I would really love to know what its worth and would like to know if it is possible to find film for it. Thanks for all ur help. :)
My Dad’s 2a folding Brownie is from His tour in Korea 1946. He bought this from Japanese troops that were coming out of the hills & surrendering to his unit from WWII. Half the writing on the camera is in Japanese. how rare is this?
I recently acquired one of these cameras that is in pretty good shape. My question is, what is the 2 3/4 inch metal pin on the outside of the case used for? Thanks.
i have a one of these cameras, but i don’t know how to use, well, it’s mainly, how to load the film.
thank you.
My dad has the 5th camera of this kind manufactured for 1917, and the book that came with it. The book says that the pin is for writing captions on the film. =]
Jose, the pin on the back is probably actually a pen. There should be a flap next to it and it is used to write information onto the film and it would then show up during the exposure on the picture if I recall correctly. Hopefull this is some help to you.
we have this camera in very good shape home. it looks very new and not much used at all.. what do you think is worth?
I never bought any of my old cameras because of what they’re worth, or what they could be worth. I bought them because I like old folding cameras. So I’ve never done any research on how much they may be worth to collectors. That said, I bought this one off of eBay and I doubt I paid more than 20 bucks for it.
HI how are you doing?
i am from Myanmar and i have kodak 2A folding autorgraphic camera. And i just would like to know how much this camera worth today and is there any aution sale for this camre?
Where can the serial number be found. I have a late model probably c1924 or later with the kodex shutter. Thanks.
the box that my camera camr in says 3A on it is that different that the 2A? It was my mothers and she passed away at the age of 101 so I am sure this is a old camera. I do not think it works but for display it would be good.
Any comments would be appreciated.
Hi, I’ve been clearing the loft and I’ve come across a 2A folding autographic brownie and I didn’t know whether anyone would know whether it has any value?
I would imagine it would depend on condition. As you can probably tell from the pictures, mine isn’t in great condition. The leather on the bellows is pretty beat up and I would imagine it’s not light tight anymore, although I haven’t tried to use it. If memory serves I paid about 20 bucks for it on eBay.
Try searching for the same camera on eBay, or a similar site, and see what they’re selling for.
I just purchased a 2A and it shows #5 in the counter window. Oh, how I would like to get the film out intact and have it developed to see what was captured. I don’t know how to open it and will wait and see if I can locate some instruction.
