Animals
According to the Texas Parks and Wildlife pages, Brazos Bend State Park has more than 270 species of birds, 21 species of reptiles and amphibians, and 23 species of mammals. Of these, I saw vultures, white tail deer, a few armadillos, and a squirrel.

While I didn’t actually see the American Alligators that live in Brazos Bend State Park, there are signs up everywhere warning you to their existence. My personal favorite is the line from the park map that tells you to cut your fishing line if an alligator takes your fish. And while I don’t know what molesting an alligator involves, I did get a kick out of the sign. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately) this sign is as close to seeing an alligator as we got.
