It’s been almost 2 years since I’ve put up a post here, and that’s just sad. But I got a blogging bug in between my ears over the winter holidays and felt the urge to get this blog going again.
So here we are with a new year, a new theme, and hopefully enough motivation to keep it going.
Adobe has released version 5.3 of Camera Raw and version 2.3 of Lightroom at www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/.
Updates include support for the Nikon D3x and Olypus E-30 along with 8 additional languages for Lightroom. There is also a fix for a memory leak that affected the 2.2 release of Lightroom.

The more I stare at the images in the Far Side in Real Life image pool over at Flickr the more I want to do a few. I’ve always been in to the Far Side comics. It’s probably genetic. Next time I’ll spend the time and use a tripod though. On all of the shots, especially the smoke ones, you can tell that there are some shake issues.

Yes, I know there are thousands of ‘how many … does it take to change a lightbulb’ jokes out there. But after reading a posting of the famous ‘how many forum users does it take to change a lightbulb’ joke on a photography forum lines for the photographers version started running through my head.
DPReview has made a gallery of full resolution samples from a Canon 5d mkII. These are some really big files, 21.1 megapixel and all, so there is a lot of data there to look at.
I came across something I wanted to write about here and realized that I haven’t posted since April of 2007. That’s just sad. So I’m back with a new theme and a little more motivation to keep this site up and going. I’m still as much of a photo geek as ever, so I’m going to see what I can do about keeping this site near the top of my projects list.
